Drainage
The new Drainage Maintenance program has begun.
The RM of Roland is collecting $2.00 per farm acre in 2011, 2012 and 2013 as a special levy on property taxes.
The first step in this process will be the surveying of all ditches. SMT Survey & Design has been contracted and have started the with the Shannon Creek Watershed. The preliminary survey should be completed by the first week of September 2011, allowing us to proceed with dirt-moving mid September to early October.
The survey of the entire municipality is expected to be complete by the end of September 2011. The information collected will be used to determine the drainage maintenance to be competed in 2012 and 2013. All applicable plans, permits, and tenders will be processed through the winter, allowing us to accomplish as much physical ditch maintenance as possible through the summer.
All site specific requests for drainage improvements must be submitted by December 1st each year to allow for budget consideration and drainage permit approvals.
